Like others it will now be a case of stick with the old versions that were free (and linked by Peter above - so get them while you can) until you really need to update. You then have three choices available to you;
1. use an updated non fully functional free version
2. pay for the Pro version, even at the high prices
3. move to another Joomla extension

I admit it was a bit of a shock when I came to nonumber today and I was like... huh? maybe I typed the url in wrong, no it is a fact those most excellent and very useful free extensions are now average and less useful free extensions, if I want the excellent full version I now need to cough up some money...

It is a big change and there will be some unhappy people but at the end of the day Peter can and has done what he wanted. Got as many people dependent on his extensions and then charge for them for full functionality.
